Right at the pedestrian exit (Gate 5) of the cruise terminal and directly opposite the customs office
is the meeting point for our city tour.
Our tour guide is clearly recognizable by his clothing, which bears our name unmistakably on the front and back. |

Macorix - House of Rum
The Macorix House of Rum presents the history and production of the famous Dominican rum.
The tour offers insights into the entire production process, from fermentation to bottling.
A highlight is the tasting of various Macorix rums, which impress with their variety and quality.
The stylish ambience and informative presentation make the museum a must for rum lovers and anyone
who want to better understand the Caribbean heritage.

Along Calle Imbert to the city center
From the House of Rum, the path leads over or along Calle Imbert.
Named after the national hero Jose Maria Imbert, the street is known for its charming colonial architecture
- it is one of the oldest streets in Puerto Plata.

La Chocolateria
The highlight for chocolate fans and gourmets. This charming manufactory offers handmade chocolate products made
from local cocoa beans. Visitors can experience the production process up close, from bean to bar,
and taste different types of chocolate. The Chocolateria combines traditional techniques with modern taste
and attaches great importance to sustainability. In addition to chocolate, other local products are also on offer.
The place is ideal for enjoying high-quality, authentic chocolate and learning more about the local cocoa culture.

Umbrella Street
Umbrella Street is a lively, colorful alleyway that immediately catches the eye with its floating umbrellas.
The colorful umbrellas hanging over the street not only offer protection from the sun, but also give the area a playful,

Paseo Dona Blanca
With its pink-painted buildings and bright floor, it immediately catches the eye.
Built in honor of Doña Blanca Ernestina Frías, the wife of a well-known local businessman,
the Paseo has become the city's most popular photo motif thanks to its bright color and charming floral decor.

Cathedral of San Felipe
The Cathedral of San Felipe impresses with its striking neoclassical façade and two symmetrical towers.
Originally built in the 16th century, the cathedral was repeatedly restored after several earthquakes.
Inside, you will find ornate stained glass windows and a calm, spiritual ambience.
The cathedral is also a symbol of the Catholic influence in Puerto Plata.

Independence Park & City Hall
The city center is the historical and cultural heart of the city. Surrounded by colonial architecture,
including the town hall and San Felipe Cathedral, the park serves as a central meeting point in the evenings
and especially at weekends. The white Victorian-style pavilion, one of the city's landmarks, is particularly impressive.

Helados Bon
There are ice cream parlors all over the world, but Helados Bon differs in the Dominican way it is prepared.

Fábrica Cigarros Monseñor is a renowned cigar factory in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

The “Malecón” is one of the largest and most important streets in the city.
It stretches along the coast and offers great views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Fortaleza San Felipe
The Fortaleza de San Felipe is a historic fortress at the entrance to the port and on the edge of the old town.
Built in the 16th century by the Spanish, it served as protection against pirate attacks.

Ferrocaril Puerto Plata (Meeting Point)
The site of the former banhof is also the meeting point for our tour. Once one of the first railroad lines
of the Dominican Republic, it played a central role in the economic development of the region.
The railroad line contributed significantly to the growth of trade and made Puerto Plata an important commercial center. Today, unfortunately, only a historic locomotive remains as evidence of the railroad's former importance.
